Kevin Harvick sanctioned after Las Vegas

Winner of his second consecutive race in Nascar Cup Series in Las Vegas (Nevada) last weekend, Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford) will however lose the benefit of its success with a view to the Chase.

The 2014 champion was in fact sanctioned with a level 1 penalty after the race for two violations of the technical regulations. One concerns a support on the rear window of his Ford Fusion, which did not allow the rigidity of the window to be maintained in all circumstances, the other on an extension of an element of the lower body, which was not in aluminium.

Additionally, Harvick loses twenty points in the Drivers standings, with Stewart-Haas losing twenty points in the Owners standings. Chief mechanic Rodney Childers was fined $50, and car manager Robert Smith was suspended for the next two Cup Series races.
