Installed on the cars' driveshafts, these sensors are the most effective tool for measuring the power output of competing cars, which is individually allocated to each participating model through the Balance of Performance (BoP) process. The decision to mandate torque sensors follows consultations with the manufacturers involved in the GT3 technical working group.
« I am delighted that we are using torque sensors in the FIA GT World Cup in Macau this year., said Lutz Leif Linden, President of the FIA GT Commission. The FIA made this decision in consultation with the manufacturers. For us, this means greater fairness and better control over BoP values, which is particularly important in such a prestigious and prestigious event, and on a circuit as demanding as Macau, where fast straights contrast with tight, narrow corners. After last year's extremely competitive entry, this, combined with the recently approved qualifying format, marks another key step in the continued growth of the FIA GT World Cup. »
