The number #1 will make its return to Supercars. For the last round of the season, the Adelaide 500 (November 1-4), Shane van Gisbergen, crowned this season, will abandon his traditional No. 97 to wear the number of the reigning champion. The New Zealander decided to pay tribute to Holden, after a poll launched by the three-time champion on social networks and on the Supercars website. The number 1 was last used in the 2018 season finale, at Newcastle, by Jamie Whincup.

In addition to number 1, Red Bull Ampol Racing will race with a special livery for the Holden manufacturer's final appearance in Supercars. “I think the Holden livery is brilliant. Everyone involved in the design did a fantastic job, rejoiced Shane van Gisbergen. I also decided to run the number 1 on my car for the last round of the season. We're in a comfortable position with the championship wrapped up, we can do something cool like that. It's a thank you to the whole team because I know they always loved racing with number 1 and they really deserved it this year. We hope this will be a meaningful tribute to the many employees past and present. That would be wonderful to win the last race for sure, but if it can't be me, I hope it's another Holden. »

Since Triple Eight's partnership with Holden began in 2010, the team has achieved 189 championship victories, 137 pole positions, 420 podiums, six Bathurst 1000 victories, eight drivers' championships, 10 teams' championships and 10 constructors' championships. .
