The first edition of the Kuwait 12 Hours will take place from November 30 to December 2, a little over two months after the Barcelona round, from September 9 to 11. The 12 Hours of Kuwait replaces the 24 Hours of Sebring as the final round of the season. The organizer and promoter of the championship, CREVENTIC, justifies this change by a freight problem to the United States. It will also facilitate the transport of material to Dubai, where the 24 Hours of Dubai will open the 2023 season six weeks later, from January 13-15.

“Welcoming a fantastic new venue to the 24H SERIES calendar is very rewarding for all of us at CREVENTIC, especially one with the cultural significance of Kuwait,” explains Ole Dörlemann, sports coordinator of CREVENTIC.It is of course unfortunate that unforeseen factors worked against the 24H SERIES returning to Sebring this season, but we are very pleased to have finalized a completely new challenge for our competitors for the final round of our 2022 season. One in which we are confident our fans and supporters will invest in in their traditionally enthusiastic way.

“Our strategy has always been to put Kuwait on the map as a world-class racing circuit and to ensure that the biggest international motorsport organizers view KMT as a must-visit racing circuit when it comes to organizing a tour in the region, adds Mohammad Al-Abdalrazzaq, general manager of Kuwait Motor Town. The Hankook 12H KUWAIT will have a variety of entertainment and educational aspects that will enhance and promote motorsports in the country. We are really excited to showcase our exceptional facilities and racecourse. »

Located less than 60 kilometers from Kuwait City, Kuwait Motor Town was opened in December 2018 following a reported investment of US$162 million. The 5,609 km circuit was established by Hermann Tilke. A circuit which will also host a round of F3 Asia in February 2023.
