For the last free practice session before qualifying at Monza, Chevrolet showed its advantage. The Golden Cross brand placed its three Cruzes in the top 5, thanks to Robert Huff (1st), Alain Menu (4th) and Yvan Muller (5th). Andy Priaulx (BMW 320si) and Gabriele Tarquini (Seat Leon TDI) slotted into this top 5, while Mehdi Bennani (BMW 320si) had the best time of the independents.
