AJ Allmendinger won his first victory this evening at Watkins-Glen. Nascar Sprint Cup Series. The JTG Daugherty Racing driver emerged victorious in the duel between him and Marcos Ambrose (Richard Petty Motorsports). The top three is completed by Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing) who is ahead of Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing).
Starting from pole position, Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) had to retire due to an engine problem. His teammates Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson finished 11th and 28th. Matt Kenseth is 9th, Brad Keselowski 35th and Joey Logano 6th.
