Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) set the fastest time in the first free practice session of the first round of the Contender Round of the 2014 Chase in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in Kansas. The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet SS achieved a best lap in 27″515, and is 11 thousandths ahead of the No. 4 Chevrolet SS of Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing). Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway) places the first Ford in third position ahead of Kyle Larson (Ganassi) and Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing).
