Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports) took pole position at the Michigan event in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet SS set the best time in 35″645 and will start ahead of reigning champion Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing). Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) and Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs Racing) will share the second row.
Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) finished 8th in the session and precedes the latest winner in the Sprint Cup Series, Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing). Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) completes the top 10.
