Brad Keselowski (Team Penske – Ford) took pole position for the Kansas event in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, counting for the Contender Round of the 2015 Chase. The 2012 champion posted a lap in 27″621 (at 313,822 km/h) and continued his momentum in the first free practices dominated by the No. 2 Ford.
Carl Edwards et Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota), Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Chevrolet) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota) complete the top 5. Note the contact with the wall of Casey Mears (Germain Racing – Chevrolet) during the first part of qualifying.
