The Swiss Yann Zimmer (TFT Moser Vernet – Ford) won the first race in NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, for the season opener in Valencia, Spain. He is ahead of the two Chevrolet SS from PK Carsport of Bert Longin and Anthony Kumpen. Ander Vilarino, reigning champion, only finished 25th after experiencing problems with his Chevrolet SS.
