Dale Earnhardt Jr received last Thursday the award for the most popular driver in the Nascar. The son of the seven-time champion of the discipline sets a new record by obtaining this prize for the 11th consecutive year and is getting closer to Bill Elliott's benchmark of 16 awards. His Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon rounded out the top three in fan voting. Tony Stewart comes fourth ahead of his teammate Danica Patrick. Jimmie Johnson, the six-time champion since this year, still takes sixth place ahead of Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth. If the Joe Gibbs Racing driver divides the public, Kyle Busch is still ninth ahead of Carl Edwards.
