The World Touring Car Championship inaugurates a new qualifying format this season. It will always be divided into two parts, the times of Q2 determining the starting grid for race 1 as in recent years. On the other hand, in order to avoid seeing a driver hang on to 8th place in the latter to take advantage of the reverse grid pole of the first eight in race 2, the order of the Q1 classification will now determine the first five rows of this race 2. They therefore concern the ten best times of Q1, in reverse order, the 10th classified starting from pole position, and so on until the 1st who will start from 10th place in race 2.
