An unexpected announcement from Japan this Tuesday morning. The Ponos Racing team announced the crews for all its motorsport programs for the 2025 season… and against all expectations, Lilou Wadoux is no longer part of it. The Frenchwoman, entered in Super GT in the GT300 category with the Ferrari 296 GT3 orange and gray, alongside Kei Cozzolino, should therefore not compete in the Japanese championship in 2025.

The official Ferrari driver will be replaced by Takuro Shinohara. This last-minute change is all the more surprising given that the Amiens driver participated in the Super GT tests at Fuji with Ponos Racing in mid-March, and that the season kicks off this weekend in Okayama (April 11).
In our columns (AH n°2505 of March 25, 2025), Lilou Wadoux confided in her apprenticeship in Super GT. “Japan helped me a lot in that sense. There’s no secret: to progress as a rider, you have to ride as much as possible. I started very late compared to the others. I had some catching up to do. I didn’t do any karting, for example - and this can be useful when you find yourself in the middle of a fight, as is often the case in the United States." Last year, in Sugo, the French driver became the second woman to achieve a podium finish in the Japanese touring car championship (JGTC and Super GT combined), after June Okanoya in 1995 (also 2nd).
