Driving the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Fusion, Ryan Blaney took his first career pole position in Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series hier sur l’ovale du Kansas. Auteur d’un meilleur tour en 28″481, Blaney précède la Ford de Joey Logano (Team Penske) et Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing – Toyota).

Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Roush Fenway Racing – Ford), winner at Talladega last week, follows in fourth place ahead of Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota).

The Fords and Toyotas largely dominated the session since the first Chevrolet, entrusted to Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing) will only start from 9th place ahead of the example of Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports).
