Although still present this season in the WTCC, the Seats are no longer officially entered. But next year, the Spanish brand could make its return to the world touring car championship. In 2011, Skoda will continue in IRC, with a car powered by a 1.6 turbo. According to the German magazine Motorsport Aktuell, Seat could also use this block in the WTCC.
Benoît Bagur, former chief engineer of Seat Sport currently working on the 1.6 turbo engine of the Skoda Fabia S2000, was seen at the SunRed structure in Oschersleben last weekend.
All of this is obviously to be taken conditionally, as no official announcement has yet been made.
