Tomczyk leaves BMW Motorsport

After a decade spent wearing the Propeller on his wetsuit, Martin Tomczyk will move to another manufacturer. The German driver had competed in several GT andEndurance for BMW in the 2010s, as the DTM, the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), TheIMSA, Or WEC briefly in GTE Pro with the M8 GTE. In 2021, he took second place in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring for Rowe Racing.

“Martin Tomczyk was a fantastic ambassador for BMW M Motorsport on and off the track, and for that I would like to send him my most sincere thanks”, said Mike Krack, director of BMW M Motorsport. “Whether in DTM, endurance racing, IMSA or WEC, Martin represented BMW M Motorsport in the highest categories and became theone of the faces of the brand. Although we are now going in different directions, we all love reminiscing about our time together. I wish him the best for the future! »

 Tomczyk added: “As a Bavarian, driving for a Bavarian manufacturer has always been a real honor. I've had some great times, driven some fantastic race cars in some of the biggest races in the world, and celebrated some successes. A big thank you to everyone who accompanied me on this adventure! Now I'm looking forward to a new challenge. »
