And sixteen minus two makes fourteen. Two cars barely took part in the second WTCR free practice session at the Nürburgring. Jack Young, the Englishman from Vukovic Sport, released his Renault Mégane at the end of the first session. He was imitated at the start of the second session by Santiago Urrutia. The Spaniard lost control of the Lynk & Co and ended up in the gravel.
The others therefore had a very clear track to achieve a fast time. Attila Tassi took the opportunity to once again set the best time in 8’55”051 with his Honda. He beat the two Lynk & Co riders, Yvan Müller and Thed Bjork by more than a second.
Jean-Karl Vernay (Alfa Romeo Team Mulsanne) set the fifth time at 4”359 just ahead of Comtoyou Racing driver Nathanael Berthon.
Several drivers in advance during the first sectors were forced to slow down in the last under yellow flag and were unable to really improve, like Yan Ehrlacher who only set the eighth time at 6”912.
Qualifying will take place at 19 p.m.
