Aurélien Comte places Peugeot on pole in Japan

The first qualifying session of the penultimate round of the WTCR at Suzuka in Japan smiled on Frenchman Aurélien Comte. The pilot of the Peugeot 308 TCR from DG Sport Compétition dominated the session in 2'11"536 and is ahead of theAlfa Romeo Giulietta – Kevin Ceccon’s Team Mulsanne.

Suivent les deux Honda Civic TCR – Münnich Motorsport d’Esteban Guerrieri et Yann Ehrlacher et les deux Hyundai i30 de Gabriele Tarquini (BRC Racing Team) et Yvan Muller (Muller Racing), tous deux en lice pour le titre avec Thed Björk (Hyundai – Muller Racing), seulement 17e.

If Jean-Karl Vernay lifted his Audi RS3 LMS – Lukoil Leopard Racing to ninth position, Aurélien Panis and Nathanaël Berthon were only able to place their Audi RS3 LMS – Comtoyou Racing in 13th and 14th positions. 19th place for John Filippi in the Campos Racing Cupra TCR.

For his return to competitive driving, Tiago Monteiro (Honda Civic – Boutsen Ginion Racing) ranks 20th.
