The first practice session of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) on the Nürburgring (Germany) allowed Rob Huff (Volkswagen) to shine. The pilot of the Sébastien Loeb Racing achieved the best time ahead of the leader of the general classification, Esteban Guerrieri (Honda). Under a cloudy sky on this Thursday morning, Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi) set the third time (+0″857).
Yann Ehrlacher is the best Lynk & Co representative in eighth place (+4″8); his uncle Yvan Muller is 20th (+10″). Note a fuel pump problem for triple WTCC world champion Andy Priaulx (Lynk & Co). The Briton did not complete a single lap.
