The first WTCR free practice session at the Hungaroring turnstile near Budapest went to the advantage of the Honda Civic TCR, with a hat-trick for the Japanese cars.
Nestor Girolami (Münnich Motorsport) was the fastest at the end of the session after completing a lap in 1'53"919, 124 thousandths ahead of his Argentine compatriot and teammate Esteban Guerrieri.
Attila Tassi, on his home ground, set the third time just over three tenths behind and precedes Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi RS 3 LMS TCR – Audi Sport Team Leopard Racing), fourth by more than half a second.
Aurélien Panis se hisse au 5e rang avec la Cupra Leon TCR – Comtoyou Cupra Racing. Norbert Michelisz place la meilleure Hyundai i30 TCR – BRC en 7e position, alors qu’il faut se tourner vers le huitième rang pour voir la première Lynk & Co 03 – Cyan Racing d’Andy Priaulx.
Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co 03) ranks 18th while Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co 03) takes 24th position.
