Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) won his first WTCR race by winning the C2 at the Nordschleife Nürburgring. The Münnich Motorsport resident immediately took the lead over Pepe Oriola (Cupra), while René Rast (Audi) caught the Volkswagen Golf GT TCR of Rob Huff. Benjamin Lessennes (Honda) was also involved in the accident which forced all three drivers to retire.
Frédéric Vervisch (Audi) a complété le podium après avoir remporté son duel face à Yvan Muller (Hyundai), tandis que Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai) est entré dans le Top 5 après avoir réussi son dépassement sur Yann Ehrlacher (Honda). Le neveu du quadruple champion du WTCC a précédé le champion en titre des TCR International Series Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi). Nathanaël Berthon (Audi) s’est classé au neuvième rang. Aurélien Panis a fini 13e devant son compatriote Aurélien Compte (Peugeot ).
The Championship risks changing at the end of the German meeting since the leader of the classification Gabriele Tarquini (Hyundai) once again retired when leaving the track. The Italian is likely to be withdrawn from Race 3, with BRC Racing Team mechanics not having enough time to repair the i30 N TCR.
