The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) will have a new Safety Car in 2020. No more Audi, make way for Honda, a major player in world tourism since 2012 in WTCC and 2018 in WTCR. The Japanese brand will provide a Civic Type-R Limited Edition to the organization. The livery, based on a “Sunlight Yellow” color, was designed by Belgian designer Vanuf.

“Honda's commitment to FIA World Tourism is second to none, recalls François Ribeiro, head of Eurosport Events, the WTCR promoter. Having this legendary car that is the Civic Type-R as a Safety-Car, with its excellent safety ratings, its dynamic and sporting qualities as well as its affordable price (43 euros in France) fits perfectly with the WTCR philosophy. »

This Safety Car will be driven over the six rounds of the 2020 season by the Portuguese Bruno Correia or Pedro Couceiro.
