Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai) a été le plus rapide dans la première séance d’essais du WTCR à Macao avec un tour bouclé en 2’30’’460. Le pilote du BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse a devancé de plus d’un dixième Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co) suivi par Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi) et Rob Huff (Volkswagen). Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co) a complété le Top 5. Aurélien Panis (Cupra) s’est classé 18e.
The session was interrupted after contact with a barrier by Gabriele Tarquini (Hyundai).
Rob Huff improved the mark in the second session with a time of 2'29''422, beating Andy Priaulx (Lynk & Co) by more than 2 tenths. Jean-Karl Vernay completed the leading trio ahead of Yann Ehrlarcher. Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co) finished just outside the Top 10 ahead of Aurélien Panis.
The red flag briefly came out following an exit from the track by Jim Ka To (Honda) and a spin by Billy Lo (Audi).
