Initially entered in the first five events of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2018, the British James Thompson (Honda) is not present in the Slovakia Ring paddock (Slovakia).
The former double BTCC champion (2002 and 2004) was not available for the weekend of July 14-15, date on which the replacement meeting for the trip to Argentina (in August) had been found. Münnich Motorsport therefore manages two cars in Slovakia, for Yann Erlacher (2nd in the general classification) and Esteban Guerrieri (8th).
