Eurosport Events, the company responsible for promoting the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) has compiled a list of statistics on its impact in the various media. According to marketing surveys, the audience on Eurosport increased by 22,8% to reach 124 million people (for an increase in broadcast time of 16,5% thanks to the addition of a third race per round).
The videos posted on social networks counted 12 million views, or 53,7% progress compared to the WTCC last year. 5 articles were published on the Internet (including AUTOhebdo.fr), a considerable jump of 939%. Finally, several rounds benefited from an increase in the number of spectators: in Hungary (89), and in the Netherlands (46, unheard of since the Grand Prix of F1 de Hollande 1985).
