The Charlotte Observer reported that a new system from Chase in Nascar Sprint Cup Series was under consideration. The changes would be major since the list of drivers would be extended to 16 competitors who could be registered in the event of victory in the regular season events. The play-offs would take place like an elimination race where only four contenders would remain for the final at Miami-Homestead. Last detail and not least: the contenders would be tied for the last test.
