Mercedes will arrive in force on the Mount Panorama circuit (Australia). The German manufacturer will arrive with 10 vehicles for the Bathurst 12 Hours, from February 3 to 5. There will be no less than nine Mercedes-AMG GT3s for the start of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, as well as a GT4. The objective will be to defend the drivers' and constructors' titles, acquired by Dani Juncadella and by the various teams present with the Etoile brand, such as GruppeM or Craft Bamboo Racing.

Among the entrants for these 12 Bathurst 2023 Hours, we will find three customer teams benefiting from the support of the Stuttgart manufacturer. Team Craft Bamboo Racing will be represented by a trio consisting of Philip Ellis, who replaces Lucas Auer injured at Daytona (Florida), Nick Catsburg and the champion IGTC in title, Juncadella. For the GruppeM team, the crew will be made up of Maro Engel, Mikaël Grenier and Raffaele Marciello.

The Team TripleEight Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be driven by Broc Feeney, Maximilian Götz and Shane van Gisbergen. Finally, SunEnergy1 Racing will field an almost identical field to last year with Jules Gounon, Luca Stolz and reigning Pro-Am champion Kenny Habul. Five more Mercedes-AMG GT3s will be entered by customer teams Scott Taylor Motorsport, TripleEight Race Engineering, Valmont Racing and Volante Rosso Motorsport. Australian team Nineteen Corporation will send a Mercedes-AMG GT4 into battle.

“The Bathurst 12 Hour is one of the toughest races of the year and is of great importance to Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, underlines Christoph Sagemüller, director of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. This is reflected in the highly competitive level of our teams and the record number of entries, both for factory-supported and customer teams. (…) Having won the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2022, we are delighted with the return of the Pro category this year and look forward to the challenge of defending this title in what will undoubtedly be a tough race against a grid first class. »
