This is certainly the image of these 12H of Bathurst 2025. In the third hour of the race, the Mercedes-AMG n°4 driven by Stephen Whole grained hit Kenny Habul's #75 Mercedes-AMG at the entrance to the Skyline corner before the Esses, and even flew away for a few seconds after a violent impact with the concrete wall. The Australian driver was able to get out of his car on his own, not without difficulty to walk and stand. Stephen Grove was then taken to the track's medical center, before being taken to Orange Hospital for further tests.
"Following an incident with another competitor earlier this morning, Stephen was taken to Orange Hospital for further tests, his team said in a press release. Initial tests have revealed back injuries, but until further tests and a consultation at Westmead Hospital in Sydney have taken place, we are unsure of the full extent of his injuries. We would like to thank all our fans and loyal supporters for the outpouring of love the team has received. Steve is in good spirits and looking forward to returning to the track.” No penalty was given for the crash, with the stewards ruling that the collision was a shared-fault racing incident. In an interview after his stint, Kenny Habul nevertheless apologised for the accident.
