Jörg Müller (BMW 320si), Robert Dahlgren (Volvo C30), Jordi Gené (Seat Leon TDi) and Kristian Poulsen (BMW 320si) were penalized after the qualifying session at Brands Hatch. Müller, initially 8th, lost five places, for having started a fast lap before the opening of the pit lane. Dahlgren had all his times canceled as his team worked on his Volvo between Q1 and Q2 in parc ferme. Gené suffered the same sanction because the engine speed sensor was disconnected from the data recording system. Poulsen, qualified 22nd, was penalized ten places on the grid for changing engines.
