Yvan Muller (Chevrolet Cruze) won Race 1 at Brands Hatch, after starting from pole. The Frenchman thus consolidates his lead at the top of the World Championship, taking advantage of Gabriele Tarquini's (Seat Leon TDI) fourth place. Yvan Muller won ahead of his teammate Rob Huff (Chevrolet Cruze) and the surprising Colin Turkington (BMW 320si).
Alain Menu (Chevrolet Cruze), who finished seventh, will start in second position in the second race. Note that the Swiss has always won at Brands Hatch since 2006, having won four of the eight races contested in four seasons.
