There were not one, not two, but three red flags in this first free practice session of the 2025 season. Formula 2The first was caused after just 10 minutes when Alex Dunne (Rodin Motorsport) crashed at Turn 12. The Irishman was probably trapped or distracted by Victor Martins' (ART Grand Prix) outside the gate a few seconds earlier at the same point, which raised a cloud of dust. However, he was not as lucky as the Frenchman and ended his race in the barriers after contact.

It was then Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport) who forced race control to neutralize the session for a second time around 20 minutes before the chequered flag. The German lost control of his car in the fast sequence of turns 9 and 10 and spun before returning to the track. However, he brought back some gravel, forcing the marshals to intervene to clear the tarmac, while he was forced to stop a few meters further on.
Finally, the end of the session was marked by a double crash, almost simultaneously. Following in the wake of his teammate Josep Maria Marti (Campos), Arvid Lindblad was also trapped in Turn 10 but was not as lucky as Oliver Goethe, hitting the wall. Further along at Turn 12, Amaury Cordeel (Rodin Motorsport) went off and remained immobilized.
In terms of time, the fastest lap went to Victor Martins, who managed to improve his own time just moments before the final interruption. With a time of 1:32, he was ahead of Kush Maini (DAMS) and Joshua Dürksen (AIX Racing). Roman Stanek (Invicta) and Jak Crawford (DAMS) completed the top five. The second Frenchman to enter, Sami Meuguetounif (Trident), finished 587th, 5:12 behind his compatriot.
