Bad news for Joshua Dürksen (AIX Racing). Third in the F2 Sprint in Bahrain this Saturday After a very lively end to the race, the Paraguayan failed to pass the post-finish scrutineering. The stewards noted that the car of the man who had arrived as the championship leader had violated Article 3.4.1a of the technical regulations. It was proven that strake 1 of his diffuser was lower than the specified minimum height.
Joshua Dürksen was simply disqualified, losing his place on the podium to Dino Beganovic (Hitech GP). As for the championship, this allowed Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) to take the lead ahead of Josep Maria Marti (Campos), winner of the Sprint Race. The two men have 13 and 11 points respectively, while Dürksen has fallen back to 4th place with 10 points.
The Main Race of the F2 in Bahrain is scheduled for 13:25 p.m. this Sunday.
