Fernando Alonso recruits Sebastián Montoya to his driver management structure

It is a duo of notable names from the Formula 1 2000s: Alonso and Montoya are reunited. While it is indeed Fernando, still active in the premier class, it is not Juan Pablo Montoya in question, but his son Sebastián. The young man, who has just celebrated his 20th birthday, has joined the management agency of Fernando Alonso, A14 Management.

He joins a structure which is particularly concerned with the career of Gabriel Bortoleto, who moved up to Formula 1 this season with Sauber after winning back-to-back F3 Then F2The Brazilian's example will perhaps serve as a model for Sebastián Montoya, who is discovering F2 this year with Prema.

Associated with the Italian Gabriele Minì, protégé ofAlpine, the Miami native sits 11th in the standings, two points behind his teammate. Sebastián Montoya, however, does not appear poised to emulate his father by reaching F1, as his results in the promotion formulas remain modest: since his fourth place in F4 Italy in 2021, he has never finished a championship in the top 6.
