Confirmed for this double-header in Kuwait only a few days ago, Joshua Dürksen (Hyderabad Blackbirds) has obviously adapted very well to the Kuwaiti route. Already in good form during Thursday's practice, the Paraguayan confirmed the trend this Friday by snatching pole position for Race 1.
During the first qualifications, Joshua Dürksen took the lead over the closely followed Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mumbai Falcons) with a time of 1'47 ahead of him by 676 thousandths on the line. Note the very good performance of Sami Meguetounif (Hyderabad Blackbirds) who ranked 43e from Q1 to just over a tenth from pole position.
During Q2, we found practically the same leading trio with the exception of Andrea Kimi Antonelli who left to take the checkerboard in 4e position this time when he thought he was dominating his teammates. Pole position therefore finally went to Sami Meguetounif who took advantage of the Italian's lost time to regain the 1st place that he had occupied for a long time during this Q2. On the line he was ahead of Taylor Barnard (PHM Racing) by almost a tenth and Joshua Dürksen by more than two tenths.
