The duel between Freddie Slater (Mumbai Falcons) and Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) lived up to expectations during this first qualifying session of the FRMEC 2025 on the Yas Marina circuit. The two men animated the session, exchanging first place on the timesheet.
During Q1, Evan Giltaire thought he had the first pole position of the year in his hands with a time of 1'49"621 but Freddie Slater dashed the Tricolore's hopes under the checkered flag. On his last flying lap, the Englishman managed to get the better of his counterpart by only 0"070, thus securing pole position for Race 1 this Saturday (18:30 p.m.).
Q2 was a carbon copy of Q1 and both men were once again the main players on track. Here again, Freddie Slater got the better of Evan Giltaire to do the double with a lap of 1'48"854, 0"465 faster than the Frenchman. This gives the Mumbai Falcons driver pole position for Race 3 on Sunday (17:25).
The grid for Race 2 (Sunday 14:35 p.m.) is determined by the reverse Top 10 of the result of Race 1.
