Josef Newgarden was the fastest during the second test session on the road in Indianapolis, with a best lap of 1'09"3323.

Beyond the reigning vice-champion, it was the entire Team Penske which showed its advantage, with the 3rd time for Will Power, the 5th for Scott McLaughlin, and the 8th for simon pagenaud.

Rinus VeeKay will also be one to watch, since the Ed Carpenter Racing driver set the 2nd time, after being the 3rd fastest during FP1.

Romain Grosjean (Dale Coyne Racing) is also, for the moment, among the fastest of the day, with a 6th fastest time, after a 5th fastest time set this morning (Indianapolis time).

For Sébastien Bourdais (AJ Foyt Racing), the winds are more contrary. Victim of a mechanical problem during FP1, this time he had to settle for 21st time.

The overall leader, Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi), was also not at the party. Penalized by a defective clutch, he had to settle for 23rd fastest time, just ahead of his teammate Jimmie Johnson, and the returning Juan Pablo Montoya (Arrow McLaren SP), which we had no longer seen in IndyCar since four years.

Qualifying will take place from 22:30 p.m. (HF).
