Quickly getting the better of the day's poleman Ritomo Miyata (ART GP), Jak Crawford led the race practically from start to finish. Able to overtake the Japanese driver on the first lap of the race, the American was able to manage his pace and take a good lead before Arvid Lindblad's somewhat late return in his rearview mirrors. Indeed, the young Briton started 5th, but was able to find the resources to overtake Luke Browning in front of him. At the end of the race, the protégé of the Red Bull was even going faster than the leader, but probably ran out of time.

Just off the podium, the duel was no less intense between Victor Martins (ART GP) and Alex Dunne (Rodin). The Irishman, who started 6th, was unable to make the expected comeback, but seemed to have a better pace than his opponent at the end of the race. This allowed him to overtake Miayata, who ended up 6th, but not Martins, who was a cautious defender in the final laps. After an efficient start, the Frenchman immediately moved from 8th to 5th place, before maintaining a comfortable 4th position until the end of the race.

In terms of retirements, only Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) was unable to finish the race, having arrived at Imola as the championship leader. This weekend, things are much more difficult for the Dutchman, who has not been able to crack the top 10 since the first practice session. Finally, in last place among the drivers who completed all the laps of this sprint, Sami Meguetounif (Trident) is definitely having a string of misfortunes. 16th on the grid despite having a good pace in qualifying, the Frenchman castigated the red flag that ended Friday's session. Unfortunately, the Trident driver stalled today on the start line, putting an end to his hopes of a good result.

The main race of Formula 2 is scheduled for 9:50 a.m. this Sunday (French time), to determine the final championship standings after the hostilities at Imola.
