This is a brief press release sent to the press by theIndyCar which announces that the name of Dario Franchitti's replacement at Chip Ganassi will be known tomorrow. The four-time Indy champion (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and three-time winner of the Indy 500 (2007, 2010 and 2012) was the victim of a violent crash last October on the Houston circuit. Suffering from two fractures to a vertebra and his right ankle, the Scot decided, on the advice of doctors, to end his career in November.
To replace him, eyes quickly turned to his cousin Paul Di Resta, Force India driver in F1, more in the odor of holiness on the side of the Indian stable. But Alex Tagliani would hold the rope, especially since Target, Ganassi's main sponsor, has just established itself in Canada. The 41-year-old Quebecer drove for Bryan Herta Autosport in 2013 and scored two top 10 finishes this year.
