Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) returns to success in the opening event of the season in Saint-Petersburg. The Brazilian is ahead of Scott Dixon (Target Chip Ganassi Racing) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport). Behind James Hinchcliffe (Andretti Autosport) and Ryan Briscoe (Team Penske), simon pagenaud (Schmidt/Hamilton Motorsports) achieved a very good sixth place. Sebastian Bourdais (Dragon Racing) retired after being at the front. Tough start for Rubens Barrichello (KV Racing Technology) only 17th.
