IndyCar – Ed Carpenter leads in FP1

Ed Carpenter (Ed Carpenter Racing) set the best time in the first practice session of theIndyCar at the Phoenix International Raceway (Arizona) completing the one-mile oval in 19”1227. The American was one hundredth ahead of his teammate Josef Newgarden.

Helio Castroneves placed the first car of Team Penske in third place ahead of Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) and simon pagenaud (Team Penske).

For his return to competition after missing the Grand Prix of St Petersburg (Florida), Will Power (Team Penske) set the seventh fastest time between Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Charlie Kimball and Scott Dixon. Juan Pablo Montoya (Team Penske) is ninth ahead of Max Chilton (Chip Ganassi Racing). Sebastian Bourdais (KVSH Racing) is 15th.
