IndyCar-EL2: Will Power accelerates

Team Penske – Chevrolet driver Will Power concluded the first day of driving in IndyCar Series in Long Beach, California with the best cumulative time from the two free practice sessions. The 2014 champion of the discipline set a benchmark lap during the second session in 1'07″599 and precedes two single-seaters powered by the Honda block with James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) and Graham Rahal (RLL Racing) who complete the ranking cumulative of the day, where all the drivers improved during the second session.

simon pagenaud (Team Penske – Chevrolet) finished 4th and ahead of his teammates Juan Pablo Montoya and Helio Castroneves. Josef Newgarden (Ed Carpenter Racing – Chevrolet), Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet), Jack Hawksworth (AJ Foyt Enterprises – Honda) and Carlos Munoz (Andretti Autosport – Honda) climbed into the top 10, while Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing – Chevrolet) finished 13th.
