James Hinchcliffe (Andretti Autosport) snatches victory from Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Racing) by overtaking the Japanese in the last corner of the last lap. The Japanese driver of the No. 12 DW14 came close to a real feat since he became the first Japanese winner in Long Beach in IndyCar, but can console themselves by taking the lead in the Championship. Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport) completes the top three ahead of Oriol Servia (Panther DRR) and Josef Newgarden (Sarah Fisher Racing). Dario Franchitti (Ganassi Racing) ranks 7th between EJ Viso (Andretti Autosport) and Simona de Silvestro (KV Racing). simon pagenaud (Schmidt Motorsports) finished ninth while his teammate Tristan Vautier finished 16th. Sebastian Bourdais (Dragon Racing) is 14th.
