IndyCar – Pagenaud at the forefront

simon pagenaud (Team Penske – Chevrolet) stood out during the first free practice session on the Texas Motor Speedway oval by setting the best time in 24″230. The Frenchman is ahead of his teammate and reigning champion, the Australian Will Power, second by 5 thousandths. The Japanese Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Enterprises – Honda) places first car propelled by the Japanese bloc in third position, 10 thousandths behind Pagenaud.

The Brazilian Tony Kanaan and the New Zealander Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet) complete the top 5 of this first Texas driving session. Tristan Vautier (Dale Coyne Racing – Honda) finished in an excellent eighth place, Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing – Chevrolet) took 15th place.

Note that the American Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport – Honda) was the victim of a violent crash, but was able to leave the medical center after being examined by doctors.
