simon pagenaud (Team Penske) set the best time in the first practice sessionIndyCar at the Road America Grand Prix (Wisconsin) with a time of 1'43''4804. The Championship leader was seven hundredths ahead of Carlos Munoz (Andretti Autosport), while Jack Hawksworth (AJ Foyt) was almost two tenths behind. Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) is four tenths behind and his teammate Tony Kanaan completes the top five six tenths behind.
Josef Newgarden (Ed Carpenter Racing) seems to be well recovered from his injury in Texas as the American set the tenth fastest time of the session.
Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing), winner of the GTE Pro category last week at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ford, took 15th position, 1”2 behind his compatriot.
