Nelson Piquet Jr, recent champion of the Formula E, will be fielded by Team Penske during a test day organized on August 13 at the Sonoma track in California. The Brazilian, who competed in Indy Lights during the Toronto event in Canada, will join six other drivers from the second division of the IndyCar Series.
Six teams will be taking part, and will take advantage of rule 6.2.3 of the regulations to put young talents on the road, as well as certain IndyCar drivers, knowing that the latter cannot be in action for more than 50% of the available track time.
