Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) remained the fastest in the three practice sessions of theIndyCar in Watkins Glen, New York. The four-time champion set the best time of the tests with a lap completed in 1'22''8008 in the last session where he preceded Will Power (Team Penske) by half a tenth.
Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) set the third fastest time ahead of James Hinchcliffe and Jack Hawksworth. simon pagenaud (Team Penske) only finished 16th.
