Quebecer Alex Tagliani was called up by Chip Ganassi Racing to replace Scotsman Dario Franchitti in the Fontana final on October 19, who suffered a back injury following his spectacular accident in Houston. Released by the Bryan Herta Autosport team last July, the experienced Tagliani could be a valuable asset to help New Zealander Scott Dixon win his third career title.
