Colton Herta (Andretti Harding Steinbrenner Autosport – Honda) set the best time in the first free practice session at the Iowa meeting this Friday evening.
The American completed his best lap on the short oval in 18″712, 54 thousandths ahead of Conor Daly (Carlin – Chevrolet). Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet), Santino Ferrucci (Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser Sullivan – Honda) and Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) follow less than a tenth behind.
Long in the top 3 of the session, simon pagenaud (Team Penske) finished 6th at 0″137 from the reference of Colton Herta. Qualifying and the first race of the weekend will take place tonight, with all the results available tomorrow morning on our website.
