Josef Newgarden (Team Penske / Chevrolet) and Takuma Sato (RLL / Honda) follow in second and third place, at 0 »0039 and 0 »0067 respectively.
simon pagenaud (Team Penske / Chevrolet) signs an encouragement fourth time and precedes his teammate Will Power. Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing / Honda) is seventh, just ahead of his teammate Felix Rosenqvist. Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing / Honda), two-time outgoing winner, is 14th.
Things get underway in earnest this afternoon with qualifying, scheduled for 20:30 p.m. French time.
