After taking pole position earlier in the day, Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport – Honda) was once again the fastest during free practice which rounded off the first week's program at the Indianapolis super speedway.
The driver of the No. 98 was ahead Helio Castroneves (Team Penske), three-time winner of the event, and Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda), who had spun earlier in the session and hit the wall, but escaped unscathed . Next Sunday, for the 104th edition of Indy500, the championship leader will start in 2nd position.

While the single-seaters no longer have the 45 horsepower turbo boost that they benefited from during qualifying, the single-seaters powered by Chevrolet showed themselves more to their advantage. Four appeared in the Top 10, including Pato O' Ward, 8th, who did better than his prestigious teammate from McLaren SP, Fernnado Alonso (11th). At Penske, only Castroneves stood out. simon pagenaud signed the 23rd time. Activities will resume Friday on the speedway, with the traditional Carb Day.
